Dr Jayesh Gohil Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist

Dr Gohil has undertaken comprehensive training in both invasive and non-invasive cardiology at the high-volume cardiology departments of Liverpool Hospital and John Hunter Hospital in New South Wales, Australia. He has been practising as a cardiologist in the Illawarra region for over fifteen years, with experience across both public and private healthcare settings. Dr Gohil currently holds a Staff Specialist appointment with the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). He has admitting rights at Wollongong Hospital, Shellharbour Hospital, Wollongong Private Hospital, and Sydney South West Private Hospital. Notably, he is the first practising Electrophysiologist in the Illawarra region, contributing significantly to the development of local arrhythmia services. Dr Gohil has been treating patients from wider areas of the Illawarra region, south coast, Western Sydney and Canberra. He is a leading EP specialist treating patients with the latest technologies such as Pulse-Field ablations. He has gained extensive international experience through clinical practice in India, New Zealand, and Australia, and has authored publications in peer-reviewed international cardiology journals. Dr Gohil remains at the forefront of advancements in arrhythmia management by actively engaging with emerging technologies, attending major international cardiology conferences, and visiting leading tertiary centres both nationally and internationally. His areas of special interest include AF ablation, SVT ablation, electrophysiology (EP) studies and catheter ablation procedures for other various types of cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac device implantation—such as implantable loop recorders, pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) devices, Leadless pacemaker insertions. In addition, Dr Gohil provides comprehensive care across a broad spectrum of general cardiology, including the assessment and management of chest pain, dyspnoea, heart failure, syncope, and cardiovascular risk stratification.

Dr Victor Joseph Consultant Cardiologist

Victor completed cardiology training in Sri Lanka and was a board-certified cardiologist in Sri Lanka. He undertook Interventional fellowship for 2 years at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Sydney. After his fellowship worked as Cardiology CMO at Coffs Harbor health Campus in Mid North coast of New South Wales for 10 years. Subsequently trained as a senior registrar in Cardiology at Campbelltown hospital to gain further skills. Currently working as a staff specialist in the Department of Medicine at Campbelltown hospital. Victor has gained extensive knowledge in the field of internal medicine and cardiology in the last 20 years in Sri Lanka and in Australia. Victor has a keen interest in general cardiology with special interest in chest pain management and coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, arrhythmias & management of heart failure. He believes in holistic approach to cardiac issues with patient centered approach. Victor is very committed to deliver the latest diagnostic and evidence-based treatment to all his patients.

Dr Amit Michael Interventional Cardiologist and Coronary & Structural Heart Interventions

Dr Michael is a very experienced cardiologist who completed his medical training at the prestigious Christian Medical College in India followed by cardiology training at the Waikato Hospital in New Zealand and the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He furthered his skills by pursuing interventional cardiology fellowship at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. He then completed another year of structural heart interventional fellowship at the world class Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. His expertise include general cardiology, cardiac imaging, coronary angiograms, percutaneous interventions including complex coronary interventions. The structural interventions performed by Dr Michael include Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), Valve in valve implantations, Valve in ring implantations, Mitraclips, Triclips,Transcatheter mitral valve replacements, balloon mitral valvuloplasty, paravalvular leak closures, PFO/ ASD closures, left atrial appendage closures. He is accredited as a Visiting Medical Officer at the Macquarie University Hospital where he performs all cardiac interventions.

Dr John Ramachandran Consultant Cardiologist

John completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Western Sydney, before undertaking basic physician's training and cardiology advanced training at Liverpool hospital. John has a keen interest in all aspects of general cardiology including the investigation and treatment of chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, heart failure, atrial fibrillation and primary prevention. His subspecialty interests involve complex valvular pathology and congenital cardiology and is currently undertaking a Masters of Philosophy in congenital cardiology with a focus on cardiac MRI. He has a strong commitment to teaching and is actively involved in the mentoring of medical students, basic physician trainees and advanced trainees in cardiology. Dr Ramachandran is a consultant cardiologist who takes pride in delivering individualised, patient care utilising the latest in diagnostic and evidence based treatments.
